Plant Japanese anemone in full sun or partial shade. Keep the plants moist to ensure more blooms and to keep the leaf edges from becoming brown and crispy. Japanese anemone can tolerate a little drier soil in partial shade, but may not bloom as well and can get a little floppy. Japanese anemone can spread vigorously when happy, so in ideal conditions, it's wise to plant it where it has space to grow, or in a contained site where it won't crowd it's neighbors.
Japanese anemone is not recommended for human or animal consumption.
