Brown Spiderwort

Siderasis fuscata

Brown Spiderwort Plant Features

Brown spiderwort is a cool plant, even if it doesn't have the most attractive name in the world! It's an unusual houseplant that has stunning fuzzy leaves. Each green leaf has soft brown hairs that make it feel like a teddy bear, and is variegated with a silvery streak running down the center.

A relatively small plant, brown spiderwort is excellent for tabletops and other surfaces. Or grow it on your desk at work for a fun, unusual piece of living decor!

Brown Spiderwort Growing Instructions

Grow brown spiderwort in low to medium light. Try to keep it out of direct sun; the leaves can become sunburned and develop unattractive bleached areas. Protect this unusual houseplant with a sheer curtain if you grow it in a sunny window.

Water brown spiderwort when the soil starts to dry. It can go for a fairly long stretch in between waterings, so take care not to overwater it. If you're not sure whether it needs water, it's usually best to leave it for a couple of days and check again.

Brown spiderwort appreciates high-humidity situations and thrives in terrariums, kitchens, and bathrooms. If the air in your home or office is dry, augment the moisture in the air with a tray of water, small humidifier, or groups of other houseplants.

Note: Brown spiderwort is not intended for human or animal consumption.
