Pink Muhly Grass Plant Features

Heat, drought, and humidity won't stop pink muhly grass from performing in your landscape. This tough, North American native perennial grass forms thick clumps of graceful blue-green foliage that's topped with feathery pink spikes in the late summer and fall. It's also salt tolerant so pink muhly grass is a great choice for seaside locations. Pink muhly grass grows about 3 feet tall and wide and is deer resistant. Hardy from zones 6-9.

Pink Muhly Grass Growing Instructions

Plant pink muhly grass in a sunny location that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sun a day and well-drained soil. Water at least once a week until the plants are established. After that you can almost ignore pink muhly grass because it does just fine with occasional rainfall. Space the plants about 3 feet apart and mulch to prevent weed competition. In the early spring, shear back the dead foliage of pink muhly grass before new growth begins.

Pink muhly grass is not intended for human or animal consumption.
